Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These items will support our student's in learning the Science Standard 5-LS2-1 and seeing a live model of movement between matter among plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment. Our students will be able to be hands on during these activities of composting and planting. Our garden is so important to our students and the materials will empower them in assisting to water and keep our plants alive. In addition, our upper grade will be knowledgeable and prepared for additional testing material to come at the end of the school year.

Students will use the compost bins in their everyday life to see how matter is cycled in their school day and how beneficial it can be to our outside garden.

The main goal for this project is to demonstrate to family, staff, and other students how gathering compost material from everyday activities are beneficial to our environment. Our students are engaging in everyday activities that are helpful to our the environment and and to plants. Our students are special because they are eager to learn, especially when given the material that is helpful to them thrive in their community.
