This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I've known my amazing first graders since they were in Kindergarten (I was their teacher!) and now we are on the first-grade boat. We switched classrooms and one of the things I instantly realized was our need for a rolling magnetic whiteboard and dry erase board erasers. So, with help from other teachers, I came to know about Donors Choose and thought I would give it a shot to get some help for our Fantastic First Graders.

I strongly believe that education should be accessible to everyone in the classroom and one of the main ways to do this is by including visual supports to engage children in their learning.

By having our rolling whiteboard, the children will have the opportunity to not only see the work on a board but they will also have the opportunity to use the board themselves. From practicing letters and sentences to using magnetic manipulatives during math, students will have the materials they need to make their learning engaging and obtainable.
