Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach on the southwest side of Chicago. My district, CPS, announced our 2020-2021 will follow a hybrid model in the midst of Covid-19. For many students, basic hygiene is not always available. I currently keep supplies in my classrooms such as toothbrushes, soap, and deodorant. Now with the return to school, I want to make sure my students still have a clean environment to come to with extra supplies if needed. My biggest concern at the moment is to keep my students and myself safe while in school this year.

My Project

These few items will be extremely helpful in transitioning my students and myself back into the classroom after remote learning. Extra masks and disinfectant spray will be a small extra step in keeping my room safe and clean. I also have wire bins that allow for a quick daily spray of items in my room such as books, binders, etc. The wire bins create a quick dry for those items. When students return to the classroom they will stay in one room the entire day while teachers will travel. A cart will allow me to move from classroom to classroom while containing all of my supplies in an organized fashion.
