My Project

Students, especially middle school students have missed out on a lot of social interaction with their peers due to social media. Many interactions have been on or through an electronic device in which many of the interactions are fabricated. These students have missed out on a lot of face-to-face social interaction with their peers causing students to have difficulty communicating verbally and through social cues. Our school is now taking away cell phones during the school day and students need to relearn how to interact with each other. In creating a space in which students can play board games with each other I hope to increase communication skills, teamwork and problem-solving skills while regulating their emotions and self-control which is critical to student success.
