This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Thank you for stopping by during these unprecedented times to learn about my 1st grade children. They are a wonderful group of Bronx Gifted and Talented students who are excited about learning. They love coming into our school building, ready to see their teacher, their classmates, and other members of our school community! It goes without saying, that I miss them, and they miss being in our classroom!

As the families and I are doing our best to provide quality education, having the additional supplies at home, will help enhance remote instruction and engagement!

Since late March, our Bronx public school has closed, and is remaining closed for the school year. In just a short time, we managed to set up a plan for remote learning. I meet with the children live throughout the week, and their parents and I have been working together to try and mimic the classroom as best as we can. Having accessibility to supplies, will help foster a positive learning environment while the children are home.

My Project

A major part of early childhood development and instruction, is offering children the opportunity to learn in various ways. While remote learning has been taking place through various online platforms, I'm looking to enhance engagement during our live lessons.

My goal is to provide the children with supplies, such as dice and dry erase boards to promote interactive live learning sessions.

Tactile activities are a major part of our everyday learning within the classroom. My hope is to transfer these learning activities into the home, by providing the children with supplies they would normally have access to in our classroom.
