This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Back to School" has a new meaning this year: new classroom! I'm excited to introduce to you my 5th grade all-stars! I've worked with the incoming 5th graders on some collaborative projects this past school year. They are truly a pleasure to work with! Here are some things I've learned about them:

These children walk into the classroom already facing many challenges-both emotionally and academically.

Many of my students will begin 5th grade below grade level, and the achievement gap only seems to widen as they move up the grade levels.`While my number one priority is to get students performing on grade level, I also want to foster a love of learning. I want students to understand that Room 60 will be their home away from home, a place where they can feel safe to make mistakes, and a place where they will grow tremendously over the course of the school year. With your help, we can make Room 60 an inviting and comfortable place for learning!

My Project

These stability yoga balls will make a difference in my students' learning in providing a classroom environment that is not only rigorous, but also comfortable!

Students deserve a learning space that is functional, comfortable, and a home-away-from home.

These chairs will provide all of those things. While I try to get my students out of their chairs several times throughout the day, sometimes, students work on metal chairs for extended periods of time. Imagine how uncomfortable that must be!

Help me make my classroom a more enjoyable and comfortable learning experience by adding these yoga balls as flexible seating options!
