My Students

I love teaching kindergarten! My students are spontaneous, sincere, and full of love and energy. They love learning and are easily engaged and excited with the more simple things. They learn quickly when the materials and the right resources are provided. Some of them love to dance and learn by singing and moving while others need a quiet space to explore. Many love activities where they can touch and use their hands; like forming numbers with playdoh, tracing letters in shaving cream, counting teddy beards, drawing, etc.

It is amazing to be able to witness the tremendous growth that a kindergarten can have in just a year!

My Project

Since I will not have the opportunity this year to be in the classroom with my students and provide them with the materials needed to make learning exciting, I would love to be able to provide them a kit for them to take home and use during my online teaching as well as with their parents/learning coach.

I am also trying to make a binder with math, writing, science and social studies activities that will reinforce what I am teaching.

This is why I am asking for binders and paper. I would really love to have the opportunity to give my students as many hands-on activities as I can and minimize the time they have to be on the computer.

At a kindergarten level, I want my students to use play doh for letter formation, counting, etc. I want them to have manipulatives for math; so, the ten frames, the tens and ones, and the 100 chart are things that we use almost daily.

The dry erase pockets are wonderful for them to practice repeatedly letter formation, writing rainbow words, and tracing numbers.

The whiteboards also provide endless options.
