This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For the past three years I have been building our dance program in our school. Where not only rhythm and dance is foster but fitness as a big focus point. With an increase rate of childhood obesity I strive to make a difference. My students have welcomed dance fitness with open minds. They are always excited to walk into my studio and willing to learn. I vibe so much of their energy that at times I forget am working because they make dance fitness that enjoyable.

Many of my students are non- native speakers and as we all know music is a universal language.

I believe DANCE teaches and builds self-efficacy and for this reason with your help I strive to give my students the best classroom experience.

Getting in Shape. My curriculum includes weight lifting, aerobics, and more. through dance. With your help, I am hoping to Build our fitness program. Our school is limited in resources. As a recently certified trainer. I want to bring something new and innovative to the dance room. Using Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. I am asking for your support to purchase a class set of 35. I am confident that my girls will fall in love with POUND and transcend it into adulthood.

My Project

Having a class set of pound sticks will allow me to finally incorporate Pound fitness into my student's workout routine. As a dance teacher, I am always looking for new ways to spice things up.

Pound has proven to drastically improve rhythm, cadence, coordination, agility, and endurance through dance.

It is becoming well known nationwide and second to ZUMBA. With a class set of 35, I will be able to teach over 100 students this new innovated way to workout. I know my students will love this new workout and am confident it will transcend into adulthood. I hope that you would please consider funding me and provide students with under tool to fight childhood obesity.
