My Students

Our kindergarten through second grade students are on the autism spectrum and thrive on sensory input. We learn by working together on projects, with everyone contributing in our own unique ways. Our abilities vary but we accept each other just the same and enjoy visiting our non-spectrum peers in other classes.

Hands-on, interactive activities are the name of our game.

We utilize science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) projects to spark interests and motivate continued engagement. Writing and reading are incorporated into these activities.

My Project

Our students have been exploring their grant funded science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) kits and supplies this school year. We incorporate social skills, problem solving and written expression in these activities by journaling our process, supplies used, and interactions with peers.

Let's launch next year by journaling in Rocketbooks.

We will be able to upload our STEM journal entries into an online program so we can share what we are learning with our families. We can reinforce what we are learning by using our new vocabulary in discussions at home. Whether we journal with pictures and a few words (Rocketbook Color) or mostly with words (Elfinbook) we will have access to our progress no matter where we are. Rocketbooks with help motivate the reluctant writer to enjoy writing with a new medium.
