My Students

In the age of technology, the love of reading isn't "novel" to young children. I aim for my classroom to be warm and inviting. What better way to encourage reading than with comfy bean bag chairs? I hope this set up will encourage higher reading levels by the end of our time together.

I teach in a Title 1 school in an outstanding school district.

Our school is the most welcoming place I have ever taught with the friendliest colleagues. My students try hard and dream big. I teach innovative kids that are curious about the world around them. They dream about what lies outside our city, as many of them haven't ventured much further. I hope to help them do this with digital devices as well as good books in my reading classroom!

My Project

I plan to use these new resources to encourage reading. I want to get the kids out of their stiff, plastic chairs and in to a good book! We will use these bean bag chairs and lap desks for our guided reading and book club circles. They will be able to relax, read, and respond while growing as young readers.

Donations to this project will allow me to provide for my students who sometimes go without.

I hope these materials will make them excited to spend time with me and a few good books!
