My Students

Elk Grove Elementary students are motivated and excited to be learning while using technology and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) strategies! They are an energetic group of TK-6th grade learners living in Elk Grove, California located in Sacramento County. We are a diverse school with students from many ethnic backgrounds, cultures, languages, and learning styles. Located in an old farming community turned suburb, we have a supportive parent base and community. We are now an AVID Elementary School (Advancement Via Individual Determination) with a focus on college and career readiness.

My Project

Rocketbooks have reusable ¨paper¨ that integrate a technology component with a QR code. When students take notes or write in their Rocketbooks, they are able to upload the writing to their Google Drive and have a digital copy of the work. This will allow students of all ability levels to access notes, add to notes, and review their notes both on paper and digitally for all subject areas. Their will be no more worry about students losing their work because it will be uploaded to their Google Drive.

The Rocketbooks will give all students the ability to practice the AVID WICOR strategy of Focused Note Taking.
