Help Mr. Schenkel

I teach a 5th grade class in all the major subjects, English, Math, Science and Social Studies. We are located in an urban setting in a high-need community.

My students love science and when we talk about geology and other science type materials they often say they wish they could see that in a real setting not just a text book.

When we cover landforms and geology the students will have a chance to handle the real item. Plus with the activities piece we will be able to do some hands-on projects that we can not do now. These Rock Samples along with the activity sheets will allow my students to hold actual samples in their hands. It will allow them to feel as well as see how different types rocks appear.

My students have limited monetary means so outside of school science learning is nearly non-existent. These items will bring the far away world into the classroom for them.
