My Students

My students are hard-working individuals who come from the inner city. We are a Title I school with a diverse population where 100% of our students receive free or reduced lunch.

Each one of these amazing juniors and seniors is enrolled in at least 1 Advanced Placement Course and have managed to maintain 80 or above average despite the struggles of teenage life and a low socio-economic area.

They are a remarkable example of young men and women getting ready for college and careers out in the world after high school.

They are funny, smart, compassionate and all-around outstanding young men and women.

They make me proud to be their teacher!

My Project

This trip is truly once in a lifetime opportunity for most. We are a Title I school vastly affected by Hurricane Sandy. Many of our students are still recovering although it was years ago. Trips like this have never been offered in our school.

These students are going to have the chance to earn college credits while visiting England and France for the first, and for most, the only time they can.

Students will have the opportunity to see Parliament in action, visit the Shakespeare's birthplace, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, see Notre Dame and most importantly, visit Oxford and Stratford Universities. The visit to these campuses will broaden their minds and give a quick glimpse to what studying abroad might look like.
