Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken​ community.

Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.

All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.

I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it. These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.

My Project

Every year the Get Your Teach On community comes together for one day to change the school norms, individually to engage students in a way never thought possible, by transforming our classrooms.

Help my rockstars rock n' roll through reading, writing, math, and science standards with this classroom transformation!

Picture walking to a classroom that has shows: VIPS ONLY, music blaring, guitars coming down from the ceiling, colors popping! Then picture doing math equations on records, creating glow in the dark science experiments, and reading about the history of rock n' roll as you rotate around the paint splattered classroom. That's my vision for this year's Rock Your School!
