My Students

Our school has a large English as a Second Language, and English as a New Language population. Music is a great way for them to connect and to express themselves. We aim to offer and teach the students what they may not have access to outside of the school. Learning to play an instrument teaches focus, discipline, and confidence. Playing in an ensemble teaches cooperation and compromise. Thinking long term, learning to read, write, and play music opens the door for scholarships and careers down the road.

My Project

In this upside down year that we are all living through, teachers are having to think outside the box to engage students and keep learning fun. Due to the fact that we can no longer share instruments, I have decided to do drumming with my students this year. Each student needs their own pair of drumsticks as there is no sharing allowed. Please help me raise the funds to supply my students with a fun, motivating, and active way to learn to read, write and play music during this crazy time.
