Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am currently servicing English Language Learners in a low income neighborhood. The students are motivated and eager to learn but lack resources such as learning centers and books. Please help fund our classroom library as well as learning centers to meet students educational needs.

My Project

I currently provide small group instruction to a group of English Language Learners who are all boys. During a conversations on interests, they all agreed that they would love to learn more about the different kind of rocks and how they form. We have begun reading articles and watching videos on rocks but having a variety of rocks in the classroom will heighten our engagement and motivation tremendously. We will have richer conversations and allow students to leave with a feeling of satisfaction and purpose. The additional resources purchased through teachers pay teachers will allow students to record their findings and present what they have learned.
