Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious about the world around them and they are always seeking answers to their questions. They're natural scientists that seek to explain everyday and extraordinary scientific phenomenon. This curiosity needs to be nurtured. Funding this project will allow my students to have access to tools and technology that will guide their inquiry and learning; it will move concepts from abstract to concrete.

My students are part of the Lower East Side an "electric" place that contains some of the world's future electrical engineers, scientists, and mathematicians.

If this project is funded students will be able to see energy transferring from potential to kinetic via the Ballon Race Cars Kit.

They will use their engineering skills to create Mousetrap Cars. They will make observations when using the energy transfer kits and identify the different types of energy and how they're transformed. We will conduct an experiment that tests the effectiveness of sunscreen to block UV energy with the solar energy beads.
