My Students

My students bring something fun and exciting to school with them each and every day. Even though each of their needs are very different, all of my students have a love for learning.

My students are exceptional and unique.

They are great kids who deserve to have these learning experiences. They are interested in so many opportunities to learn in many different ways and best of all they are excited about it! My students take great interest when the environment around them is engaging and exciting. This is the environment I am trying to build in my classroom to promote learning and positive behavior.

My Project

The use of our classroom writing center is a daily activity in my classroom. Using this center will help students learn letters, letter sounds, and words. Both the writing books will allow students to create stories daily and allow them to keep all of their writing together in one place as it can get lost in our Kindergarten classroom when written on sheets of paper. The stencils are a tool I want to provide students with at the writing center to help creative writing possibilities. Using the stencils will allow children to not only spark interest on an idea to write about but will allow them to create a picture to go along with their writing. The Magna/ Magnetic boards requested will allow students to easily practice writing letters and words repeatedly. This will also allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide support for them when creating letters and words on the doodle board. I feel that this piece to the writing center will excite and engage students! It will allow students to easily practice their writing. It also is a great way for students to show and share their work with me. Then I am able to offer support on how to correct mistakes. What becomes a problem is the fact that students lose interest in writing so materials need to be changed frequently at this center. I have chosen materials that i think will benefit my students to produce stronger academic skills in literacy, but also get them excited about going to this center and ultimately learn to love writing!
