My Students
I teach in Philadelphia where resources are very hard to come by. I have brought and bought many materials to ensure my students have great lessons. I have asked my students for many things like paper, tissues, and hand sanitizer. They do the best they can and I'm appreciative of everything they can bring in. My students are hardworking and enjoy learning new things. I want to be able to help them in any way possible.
My students are diverse and come from many different backgrounds.
They bring many different interests and opinions into the classroom that benefit the entire group. My students have a love for all things technology and I want to bring more of that too them. They're not afraid of being challenged and I love that about them. They are fun to work with. They put on skits, act out scenes, and make puppet shows to show understanding and they do a wonderful job!
My Project
I really need good wireless microphones and a mixer for our Rock n Soul program. I have a diverse student population in the Philadelphia School District. I try to raise funds in many ways and have spent my own money in trying to get our sound as good as it can be. Right now, we don't have a school sound system and I've been using equipment that is sub par for our live performances. I do what I can with what I've got. However, the kids have a great time and it doesn't really effect them.
My kids really need better wireless mics and a mixer for our live performances.
I bought a cheaper brand of wireless mic, but we can't use them for performances because of the poor quality. I also need a better mixer to handle our speakers and mics. Currently, I use a small mixer but it can't handle everything we need for a live performance.
I want my kids to be able to experience a show where their sound isn't compromised and that will sound great. Any little hitch in the show makes the kids nervous and fearful that something will go wrong. I really need better mics and mixing board. I really hope you can help us out as my school has been unable to get the district to give us an updated sound system for our auditorium.
