A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My Students: We need help learning reading, math, science and technology skills! I'm a first grade teacher working at a low income, Title I school.
My Students: Research shows most of my students need extra support and hands-on learning to be on grade level.
Providing creative common core based materials and technology greatly enhances their success.
My students are wonderfully unique and diverse in ethnicity, culture, and abilities. Title I students have parents that care and want the best for their children, but sometimes are overwhelmed with work and trying to make ends meet. Single or struggling parents spend their limited time reading, doing math, or helping with homework to help their kids progress, but may not have the background knowledge themselves to fully help their student. It is also hard for low income families to provide as many opportunities for use of technology at home because of the high cost of these products.
My Project
My Project: My students need help learning reading, math, science and technology skills! We can use a Nature Classroom Carpet for 30, and United States Literature Library, Pop to Win! Math Games, and a classroom Rock, Fossil and Mineral Collections. I have requested Science, Math, and Language Arts materials to use in whole group, small group, and one-to-one instruction. Children love to learn when it feels like a game and gives them the chance to be hands-on and creative. These items and technology will be used to engage my lower skilled learners and enhance the other students learning as well. I have also requested a gathering rug with a simple tree which can help create a peaceful more natural learning environment.
Your Donation: I believe that your donation can make a huge impact on helping me to build a foundation for a well rounded, inviting, and creative new year.
I look forward, with your help, to create a solid framework of teaching tools which will help my classroom students succeed for years to come.
