My Project

Computer science is more than just coding! With the goal of increasing diversity in computer science, the class I teach called "Exploring Computer Science" strives to show students the creativity, collaboration, and importance of inclusivity in computer science. It is geared to make students feel a sense of belonging in an otherwise intimidating field.

I want to have a fun, celebratory unit at the end of the year on Robotics.

However, to do this, we need robots! I have a full curriculum to teach a super fun, engaging, rigorous robotics unit, but no robots for them to work with yet. I know so many students absolutely love the idea of coding robots, but this experience is inaccessible for many students because of how expensive robots can be.

Please help me give my students something to look forward to, something that really celebrates how much computer science they've learned this year, and something that emphasizes that CS is fun and for them!
