The look on my students faces after participating in the Hour of Code last December made me realize how much they want to learn about coding and robotics. The problem solving that takes place with the programming of Dot and Dash will help my students reach their goals.
We are a very small school in rural New Jersey.
The students in my gifted classes are very inquisitive and eager to learn. There is a robotics competition each year in our county's gifted consortium, but so far we have not been able to participate.
My Project
We will use Dash and Dot to teach us more about coding and robotics. These little robots will give the students a hands on experience. The students will be amazed to see their code come to life before their eyes. Programming is an important 21st Century skill for today's learners. This experience will give them some valuable exposure to engage in some STEM activities.
Students' lives will be forever changed by this project.
They will work in small groups to develop their collaboration and communication skills. Gaining experience with iPads, coding, and robots will amaze them. You never know...this may spark the interest of the next greatest technology inventor!
