My Project

Corita Kent states, "Nothing is a mistake. There's no win or fail. There's only make."

This quote resonates with me because it is a teacher's responsibility to spark and fuel creative thoughts into our children.

We need to prepare students to be breakthrough innovators, thinkers, and doers of technology. Students need to have opportunities to use design thinking to create different projects. We need to get our students to think outside of the box and get them to develop a "fail forward" mindset so we can instill a natural thirst for learning. Students need to be inspired to discover new ideas, build upon them, try out new things, and keep trying again as they fuel their inner passion and perseverance to reach their ultimate goal. Finally, once they reach their goal, they can share their learning with the world.

For my project proposal, I need a chromebook for computer coding activities in the field of STEM. The students can design and create a robot and code the robot to teach a concept in different academic disciplines when pressing different conductive touch points. This project is tied into literacy based on the book, Dolle 1.0 by Shanda McCloskey. The students can also conduct research in different topics of interest and they can be inspired to craft different projects in different areas of study as their robot teaches academic content. Students can ask questions, build new knowledge, and make different things based on their learning through the use of technology. In closing, Henri Matisse says, "Creative people are curious, flexible, persistent, and independent with a tremendous spirit of adventure and a love of play." Let's innovate my young scholars to tech it, create it, and design it today with this awesome chromebook.
