My Project

My reading intervention students are amazing students who need a little extra support. They are intelligent, hardworking, and capable. Many of my intervention students are one to two grade levels behind their classmates in reading. They need small group instruction on their level to accelerate their reading growth. I serve students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Reading has not always been a positive experience for many of these students. I strive to make them feel successful but most importantly to develop a love for reading.

According to Victor Hugo, “To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled is a spark.” I strive to make our reading intervention time engaging and meaningful for my students and light their fire for learning to read.

Reading intervention is a time when they receive extra instruction on their level. Providing these students with quality reading intervention using items such as the Phonics Word Builder Magnetic Kit, Phoneme Phones, and CVC word games is essential for motivating students to read.
