Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The items included will greatly benefit my class by pushing students engagement and interaction. Interaction with their classmates and also as a technique to learn.
I serve an area in which most students are first generation in the United States, and do not have access to a lot of resources.
The white boards will be perfect for relays, whether it’s drawing connections through the different timelines or vocabulary. I have a large EB population, and by introducing whiteboards with vocabulary terms and as a game, ensures success.
I plan to use binders for those that cannot access them, highlighters and pencils will make sure my students are able to color code notes, maps, and identify key writing concepts- make the information pop with color. As an AP class, it is critical that they build the writing skills in order to execute in May and pass the AP Exam for college credit. Writing is something that we do daily in class, with the laminating machine rubrics and checklists to follow can be printed to keep them accountable.
