During distance learning, my beginning winds class will be learning how to play the bells (AKA the glockenspiel).
Normally my students would share their instruments with members of the advanced band, but that is not safe nor possible due to school closure/COVID 19.
As a result, we need your assistance. I want to make sure that each beginning student has a chance to experience the joys of playing music. In these tough times music is essential for our students because it supports their social emotional needs and helps build a sense of community, which many of us are missing during distance learning.
Please help support my amazing students with a donation.
Thank you !
My Project
If my project is fully funded students will be able to play an instrument at home on a daily basis.
Frequent practice is necessary for a student to learn an instrument.
How can they improve if they don't have an instrument to play?
This will allow us to:
- Learn how to read music notation
- Perform in a virtual setting
- Encourage collaborative skills
- Learn music theory basics
- Develop creative expression
- Meet the National Standards for Music
-Practice their instrument and strive for musical excellence
- Provide students with a fun escape from the realities of 2020
More than half of students from low‑income households
