Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students come from a low-income community and the majority has to face challenging situations in their everyday lives. Regardless of this, they are eager and ready to learn. Families in our community are primarily Spanish speaking and most of our students are English Language Learners. Our school is an inclusive place where students feel welcomed and respected individuals.

My students’ love for learning inspires me to create the best classroom environment for them.

My students are diverse learners with learning and/or behavior difficulties. They come to school with high expectations and I want to have the resources they need to meet their individual needs and interests

My Project

The supplies and materials that I am requesting for my students will provide them with visual and hands-on tools to fuel their academic, organizational, and independent functional skills. These supplies will offer many benefits in a variety of areas. My diverse learners learn best through visual aids and application. The chart paper will be beneficial during whole group instruction since we can create and display interactive models and examples in any academic subject. In mathematics, they will use the double-sided write and wipe boards, graphed paper, magnetic chart, clear and reusable sheet protectors to increase the amount of practice, which will foster their understanding of math concepts. These versatile materials will help us to save paper and will offer a highly engaging way to explore challenging skills in algebraic thinking, operations, base 10 and problem-solving. These supplies will also support my students’ development of teamwork and independent capabilities and ultimately their lifelong learning skills.

My students’ eagerness to learn drives me further to provide the necessary learning materials needed to better their success.

As an educator, my goal is to offer and maintain a well-organized and welcoming classroom environment where my students can flourish with the appropriate supplies for the school year. My students are well aware of the many generous donors who have their educational needs in mind and are generous enough to provide towards their independent, successful, and invigorating learning path.
