Rich Literature While Learning About Plants

My students need 20 copies of "Jack and the Beanstalk" and 20 copies of "The Giving Tree". These books are rich in literature and can be effective tools for teaching reading and making connections to abstract concepts in life sciences.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 1st grade at a charter school in a low income area. Your donation is crucial to the creative teaching and deep understanding that my students need to succeed in school.

A big unit study in first grade is learning about plants. This unit is very important and teaches the basic life science concepts that they will build on throughout their schooling years.

Through providing these motivating and exciting literature books, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Giving Tree, students will be able to make connections between nonfiction information about life science and rich literature. They will work on literacy skills and enhancing motivation to learn more about plants.

You have the power to provide the literature and open an exciting door to help make the abstract comprehensible and exciting for our first graders. Thank you in advance for your contribution and we appreciate your support towards a balanced instruction in literacy and the content areas like life sciences.
