My Students

My sixth-grade students are creative and curious! They are a group of readers, always eager to discover new books, new characters, and new lands. My sixth graders are explorers, always looking forward to the next big thing. We work together to motivate and inspire each other to continue to learn.

My students thrive off of hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to bring real-life connections into the classroom.

They are a wonderful group of scholars who impress me each day. I am excited to be on their educational adventure with them.

My Project

What better way to reach students than through something they love; music! Flocabulary is an amazing site that teaches students concepts in all areas of the curriculum, through music. I have used Flocabulary in the past in all subject areas. My group of diverse learners need an engaging resource to draw them in but also get them learning. I have found Flocabulary to be one of the most engaging resources to reach a wide variety of learners.

Students get hooked right from the start and usually ask to watch the videos over and over.

There is nothing better than hearing the students singing the songs they learn as they are studying, completing lessons or just hanging with their friends. Multiple students have come to me after a test and said they were singing the song to help them remember steps or definitions while working. Flocabulary is also helpful to a teacher as a pre or post-assessment. Knowing what the students already know and where they need to grow drives lesson planning.
