My Project

At our public high school, we have an Alternate Assessment Program for students with developmental disabilities. We have behavior plans for these students to help shape their behaviors and really need help with resources to reinforce good behavior choices! Positive reinforcement is a means of identifying and teaching a specific behavior to a student with the intention of seeing an increase in the desired behavior. This strategy has been demonstrated as an effective strategy for students with disabilities. The student receives reinforcement contingent on the occurrence of a specific behavior. We use token economy is a positive behavior reinforcement/reward strategy for establishing and

maintaining positive behavior.

The strategy uses rewards to motivate young people to behave appropriately in a given situation and to maintain that behavior.

Regular education students may be motivated by praise alone, but special education students often need more. Using an assortment of physical items like small toys or stickers as rewards for good behavior provides something tangible for the special education child to link the behavior to the reward.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them incentives to make good choices. Please help!
