Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This school year students will be encouraged to explore the media center by reading books from all facets of the Dewey Decimal System. A program has been created that will inspire students to read and summarize books from each section of the media center.

The exposure gained through reading various genres will help students become well rounded and the summaries will improve their comprehension and writing skills.

The goal of this program is to expose students to the various offerings in the media center while providing them with the opportunity to improve their reading skills, and their ability to express what they have read through writing.
