Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year, 5th grade supportive education teacher in a public school system, I am dedicated to helping my students build their academic skills in a way that meets their unique learning needs. To support their progress, they use interactive and adaptive tools that reinforce concepts at their own pace, boosting their confidence and understanding.

By providing structured support and engaging resources, I strive to create a learning environment where every student feels empowered to grow and succeed in reading and math.

Each week, my students set a goal of completing at least three lessons on iReady. To keep them motivated and to celebrate their progress, I reward them weekly for reaching their goals, as well as whenever they complete an iReady lesson.

The snacks and prizes I provide serve as incentives, recognizing their dedication and perseverance. My students work hard every day to meet their goals, and what inspires me most is their determination. They never give up, continuously ask questions when they need clarification, collaborate with their peers, and support classmates who may be struggling. Their resilience and teamwork make me incredibly proud, and I want to continue encouraging their efforts with meaningful rewards.
