My Project
The specific items I am requesting—small toys, bubbles, Play-Doh, workbooks, and fidget tools—will serve as tangible rewards for positive behavior, academic achievement, and effort. By using these incentives, I can foster a classroom environment where students are motivated to stay engaged, follow expectations, and support one another. The act of choosing from a treasure chest provides students with a sense of pride and accomplishment, reinforcing positive behaviors that promote a more focused and cooperative learning space.
These items also contribute to social-emotional learning (SEL) by helping students develop skills such as self-regulation, empathy, and perseverance.
For example, fidget tools not only serve as rewards but also as calming devices for students who need help focusing during lessons. Stickers and small toys offer immediate positive reinforcement, building their confidence and encouraging students to take risks in their learning.
The goal of this project is to create a classroom culture where effort, kindness, and perseverance are consistently recognized and rewarded. I want my students to feel that their hard work is appreciated and that they are a part of a supportive learning community. These treasure chest incentives will help me reinforce positive behavior, support individual learning needs, and foster a growth mindset in my students.
What makes my students special is their diversity and unique challenges. Many of them are navigating personal or academic obstacles, but they come to school each day eager to learn and improve. They are resilient, hardworking, and full of potential, and I want to provide them with the tools and rewards that help them succeed, not only academically but also emotionally and socially.
