Revving Up the Future PS 43 Jonas Bronx Soapbox Derby STEAM Team

At PS 43 Jonas in the Bronx, our students are ready to dive into an exciting Soapbox Derby competition as part of a hands-on STEAM project.

They will apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math skills to build their own soapbox cars while fostering teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

To make this experience unforgettable, we’re seeking your help to provide essential supplies: snacks, water, juice, ice popsicles, camping chairs, snack portable cooler, and team jerseys. These items will help keep our students hydrated, refreshed, and comfortable as they work and race together. The jerseys will build team spirit and unity, while the camping chairs will give them a place to relax and collaborate during the event.

Our students are eager, creative, and determined to succeed. Despite the challenges they face in our community, they are always ready to rise above and prove their potential. The Soapbox Derby will not only help them explore engineering and design but also teach them valuable life skills such as collaboration and perseverance.

The supplies you help us acquire will directly impact their learning by making the event more enjoyable, engaging, and educational. By participating, they will gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of STEAM concepts in a real-world setting, all while building confidence and pride as a team.
