Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

One of my responsibilities as an eighth grade social studies teacher is preparing my students for the New York State Intermediate Level Social Studies Test. It is a comprehensive evaluation of topics studied in seventh and eighth grade. The topics range from the Conquistadors to the Cold War. Recalling what they have learned over a two year period is a tremendous task for my students. I try to help my students in any way I can. I hold review sessions during my free periods and after school. Unfortunately, this is not enough. What my students are missing is a consolidated source of information from which to study. A review book for this test will provide my students with a concise overview of the topics they need to know as well as a few practice tests to measure their preparedness. I am requesting a class set of review books to help my students pass their New York State exam.
