Our first-grade room is truly a mix of different abilities. Some students are still needing practice writing their letters, some have just become confident in their reading and some are fluently reading chapter books, like the Magic Treehouse.
In our class, we help each other learn, encourage participating by accepting mistakes and celebrate every success, big or small.
As a first grade team, we try to meet the needs of every student by providing a variety of opportunities to respond and varying resources for them to use to gain and practice reading and writing skills. The work we do includes writing on whiteboards, using a program called Lexia on the iPads to practice their skills, and reading, lots and lots of reading!
My Project
These supplies will replace the old, hand-me-downs that I received 10 years ago as a new teacher to my school! Our privacy barriers are breaking, are books are looking VERY loved and we fight over our four caddies of markers.
I would love to make labels, signs, bulletin boards and reminders with ease and Critcut provides this.
Having this would give me the ability to make these as needed. Good organization and labels are critical to a functioning environment and maximizing on task behavior.
