This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Heading into the new year, there have been changes that have occurred, which has caused me to have to revamp the band program. Firstly, our district has been taken over by the state, and we are currently going through a reconstitution. Secondly, we have lost children due to gentrification. Thus, our numbers have dwindled, and we do not know what our numbers will look like.

Therefore, as we go into the new year, I am looking to get a head start on obtaining the necessary supplies, such as binders and pencils, which will aid them in organization, responsibility, and accountability of all music and other materials.

Because our school is Title I, I want to alleviate the strain of parents buying supplies for band along with worrying about instruments. Funding is an issue in our school, and supplies for our students are limited. Thus, by obtaining funding for this project, students can begin learning music without the strain and hassle of having the materials to store it.
