This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During the past few years our kiddos have experience a dearth of science. With remote learning and social distancing practices put into place kids could not experience science in a collaborative hands on way. The kids are hungry to learn more about science and you can see the joy on their faces when they get those rare moments of pure curiosity when they ponder something new.

My goal is to make science time an experience that lights my students eyes up with wonder.

This year I have become the science specialist in our school and have a chance to impact and plan for grades 2-4. This is why I am asking for these supplemental materials to help make lessons comes alive. More activities to help understand magnetism, kid friendly models to help understand the muscle/skeletal system, planters where young kids can see the roots grow! Almost 300 scholars will benefit from this push and if this is successful I also plan to bring the first Science Fair our school has ever seen!

There are many plans I would love to see come to fruition for our school but I need your help with this first step! I hope you have a dear memory of science classes when you were young. I know I do, and I hope I can help foster those for this generation.
