I work at one high school and the other a program school. The schools educate a diverse of ethnicities of different percentages. Both schools are in a rural area providing 100% of the students with free and reduced-price lunch.
Living in a rural area has unforeseen challenges sometimes such as extended wait times for medical assistance.
It may take up to or more than 45 minutes for medical assistance to arrive and administer medical treatment. It is important to teach as many people as possible the skills of CPR to help them provide quick medical attention as possible to a person in cardiac arrest.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a technique that can help save lives during cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too poorly to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs. According to American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chances of survival cardiac arrest. If CPR is performed immediately, it can double or triple the chance of survival from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Having proper CPR equipment will help to teach students the skills and techniques needed to perform CPR on a victim in need.
Manikins in the form of an adult and infant will provide the students with hands-on practice. It will enhance the students' learning experience through building confidence, team training, and scenario replication.
CPR kits are filled with CPR equipment that help protect the rescuer. CPR equipment helps protect the rescuer allowing them to safely administer CPR to the victim.
