At this time of year, we start running out of basic art supplies. We need these supplies restocked before next school year because we still have three months of classes. Some of my students artworks will be featured at our district's elementary art show in March and every student at my school will be featured at our school art show on May 5th, so some projects have not been created yet. I am requesting two brands of watercolor (Prang and Koh-i-noor), which will be utilized by two different grade levels. We are needing new sets of colored pencils. I also am requesting rice paper for my first graders, so we can create gyotaku prints.
Lastly, I am requesting two boxes of paper towels because my district previously used rolled paper towels, which worked very well in my art classroom!
This kind of paper towel roll is different than the kind that people buy for use in their homes. The reason I am requesting this on DonorsChoose is that my district installed new paper towel dispensers at my school that use a different type of paper towel, and these new paper towels do not work for my art classroom. I had my old paper towel dispenser removed last school year because, with 45-minute classes, standing there turning the knob to dispense paper towels was ridiculous. When my students cleaned, I ripped the paper towels off of the roll and handed these out to my students. In my art program, I cannot afford to lose 5-10 minutes of every messy class fiddling with the paper towel dispenser. The new paper towels come in stacks with the amount being much smaller than compared to the rolled paper towels and there is a substantial decrease in the quality of the paper towels.
