This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 6th grade Spanish teacher at our public school in DC, I am constantly striving to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for my students. However, with limited resources, it becomes challenging to meet the diverse needs of each learner. That's why I am reaching out to request your support in acquiring a set of headphones with a microphone for our classroom.

In our dual language school, where Spanish and English are both integral parts of the curriculum, it is crucial for students to have opportunities to practice their language skills independently.

With the addition of headphones, students will be able to engage in interactive language exercises and activities at their own pace without disturbing their peers. This will not only foster a sense of autonomy and responsibility but also allow for differentiated instruction tailored to individual learning styles and needs.

Moreover, many of our students do not have access to computers or headphones at home, making it even more imperative for us to provide these resources in the classroom. By equipping our students with the tools they need to practice speaking and listening skills effectively, we are empowering them to become confident communicators and lifelong learners. Additionally, as my co-teacher focuses on English instruction, these headphones will benefit her students as well, further enhancing the collaborative and supportive learning environment we strive to cultivate.

Together, we can ensure that all students have equal opportunities to succeed and thrive in their language learning journey.
