Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the first time, our "newcomer academy" high school will offer our dedicated English-language learners the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition course, which is an opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

In order to make the first year of this AP course a success, we need reading resources to build students' vocabulary and a textbook collection of readings that will prepare them for the AP exam in Spring 2024.

At present, we do not have any tangible resources for students to use and help them grow their nascent English vocabulary and advanced-level readings for the AP test.

Our students want the opportunity to be the first in their family to graduate high school, and progress on to college. This project helps students get a head start on earning college credit with the AP course. Please help ensure that students have access to resources to help them, and give them a chance to learn!
