Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My specific items include books on endangered animals and art books. The endangered animal books are for an upcoming unit on creating posters to raise awareness for endangered animals. The remaining books are about the arts. My students would be able to freely go through these books for some inspiration for either my projects or their own.

I can always give them class laptops or let them use their phones for research, but where is the challenge in that?

With these books, they can work on their problem solving skills and hopefully find new information along the way. They need to understand what they are looking for, why, and how much information they need, which is why I love for them to explore through books.

My students are creative and bright. They are all following my lessons so well. We are able to have discussions in class and feel confident enough to ask for help when needed. These books would be a treat for them. They appreciate items that direct them and help them understand the lesson.
