My Students

Have you ever been really interested in a topic and could not wait to read more about it?

Do you remember what it is like to read all about a famous person for the first time?

I am a general education 4th grade teacher. This is my 8th year at my school. This year my students are reading above grade level. I do not have enough higher level books to meet their needs. My students are reading above grade level. They are eager to learn and enjoy reading about famous and important people and new and exciting places. My school is located in NYC and is made up of students from many different cultures and backgrounds. It is important for them to read about people from many different places and to learn about different things in history.

My Project

These books will help the children in my class learn how to do research. They will have more variety of books and topics to pick from when writing reports. These books will help inspire them to love non-fiction. Non-fiction reading is an essential skill in life. As part of the new standards children need to be exposed to more non-fiction reading.

Non-fiction reading helps create life long learners and successful students in the future.

It is my goal to help my class to succeed in middle school and high school and to go on to college.
