This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds and bring many special qualities to my classroom. As a Title I School, many of my students are on free and/or reduced lunch and often lack the basic supplies necessary to be successful students.

While we are all different, we have much to learn from each other.

As Gifted learners, my students seek challenges; however, they lack the necessities when it comes to learning above and beyond what the general education curriculum reguires.

My Project

The carpet and laptop would be a great beginning for our research center. Currently, the computers in my classroom are not functioning well. They are highly unpredictable and students aren't learning how to use the latest technology. With this research center, students can work in groups to discover new things. I can also challenge them to find information in a fun way. A recent project of ours was a new classroom printer. Now, we just need the computer. The carpet would be awesome because students can sit on the floor with their laptops and research materials spread out! What a great way to learn!
