This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I got a bearded dragon for a class pet for our classroom to teach students responsibility, how to care for others, and about different parts that play into an ecosystem during science and geography. I got Norbert through a program called pets in the classroom, but he has outgrown his habitat! In order for him to stay healthy and happy, he is going to need a major upgrade. By April he will be full grown, so I want to go ahead and just get him the items he will need for then instead of having to buy a 40-gallon tank now and then a 67-gallon tank in April.

All of the items on this list are what he will need to transition to his permanent home so the students can continue to see what is required when being a responsible pet owner and enjoy his company!

There are a few items on there like the tote case and the playpen that you would think he doesn't need in his tank. The tote is for when I take him home on weekends and holidays where I have my own tank for him there, this is why I need your help since I have to purchase my own setup for when he's not at school. The playpen and the bed are so he can be outside of his tank with the class during garden days and still be in a secure area.

My students coming to me this year are very excited about having Norbert in class and I can't wait until they see the upgrade his house gets!
