Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students come from many different backgrounds and speak different languages. It is very important to me that the students can see themselves in the books we share in our classroom library. They love to listen to stories and often will seek out those titles from the shelves in our classroom.

Reading is one way we can learn about the world around us.

My students are curious and work hard. They are learning basic reading skills like sounds and comprehension but we our goals also include fostering a passion for reading. We want to create voracious readers that will seek out stories to read throughout their academic careers.

These titles will help us have books on hand that students can read in class as well as check out and take home to share with their families. My students deserve a diverse library that will teach them more about their own cultures and cultures around the world.
