Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, curious, loving, fun and talented! Being a classroom teacher, I am constantly trying to provide my learners with the most beneficial, equitable education experience to foster lifelong learners in a positive supportive environment.

Majority of the students in my classroom come from a diverse backgrounds and I want to give them all the opportunities they deserve to be successful in this world.

My students come from various countries such as Albania, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Yemen and many more. In addition to the language and cultural barriers, I have several students with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) to support their academic growth and several with ADHD, despite theses challenges these students break all barriers due to their drive to learn. Currently, these little go-getters are working hard to achieve all goals they set their minds to.

My Project

My amazing kids are empathetic, kind, and brilliant. They are curious and always asking questions. They love reading and are always asking if it is reading time.

Many teachers talk about cultivating a love for reading and to accomplish this, our students need to see themselves in the books that they read.

The students need to be able to relate to the characters in their story.

Representation matters! The books will help me build a diverse classroom library. This will provide my students to more access to books. Letting them have more books in their hands at a time. This also allow me to provide all of my students with books that meet literacy needs as well as their social emotional needs.
