My Students

My students are an exceptional bunch of kids. They come to school each day ready and eager to learn whether they are remote or in person. For many of them, school is not just a place to learn, but it also is what many of them would consider a place that feels like home. Especially with all that has been going on in the world, they continue to work hard and give it all they have!

They laugh, have fun, tell stories, and socialize with their classmates.

Even though school looks different than what they are use to, they are trying the very best they can. They are students who are eager to learn and want to be the best version of themselves. All of them have goals of one day going to college, and most importantly having strong careers! They don't allow the outside influences of their environment to affect their learning and eagerness to learn. They are typical kids, in an area which forces kids to grow up quickly. Most of all, they care about school, and come each day eager and willing! What more could a teacher ask for?

My Project

These books will provide our classroom with a library they deserve. Representation matters, and we want to ensure our students see themselves in the books that they are reading. We also want to spark a love and joy of reading, and this will definitely be the step in the right directions!

We want kids to see themselves in all genres of reading.

This is essential to not only building life-long readers but also promoting self love and pride. We have readers on all different levels, so these books will support all readers in our classroom no matter what their level is!
