Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a curious, creative and clever group of learners. They come from a variety of backgrounds, and most have been in our school since pre-school. Our school is the only Pre-K through eight-grade school in our district.

Our school is located in an urban environment where students struggle to find resources to acquire 21st-century skills.

Many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch, yet these students set high expectations for themselves and meet their goals. They work hard, aim high, and want more and more knowledge.

Our school has a great attendance rate and high parent involvement.

My Project

My students use whiteboards daily in reading, writing and mathematics. During this time of fully remote learning, whiteboards allow students to share their thinking via Zoom.

Since students are using whiteboards throughout the day their dry erase markers are drying up.

This project would allow them to each receive two new markers with a built-in eraser and magnet which would enhance learning.

The math whiteboards will provide students with the strategies to show their math work.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve student engagement during lessons, you ultimately will help to increase student achievement in reading, writing and math.
